Oh the jeep, what a solider.
The deer that hit the jeep-it wasn't our fault, he jumped out of nowhere, seriously, and hit the front of the car on the passenger side. It managed to break the light and dent the hood and two doors on the right of the car, leaving us some nice fur to be discovered over the following days.
Things I love about the jeep:
- We had to take all the lights out of the jeep because they wouldn't turn off and kept killing the battery
- We had to balance the jeep's tail gate on our head or try and wedge a block of wood in it to keep it up. Ridiculous!
- The CD player and FM radio stopped working, BUT the AM and tape deck worked! Made for some good times since I had one tape- "Dirty Dancing" and listened to it way way too much. This also is when my love for NPR blossomed
- The jeep's seats were leather and the driver's seat got a rip in it, so Jonny and I put duck tape on it, which eventually peeled off and was just a sticky hot mess
- The drivers door somehow fell off, not the whole door, just the inside part of it. You had to pull the door closed using the window or else the inside part would just snap off and drop towards the ground. So, naturally, we tried velcro and then tried to drill nails in it.
- The passenger's door got screwed up from the deer accident and ended up getting duck taped too. WT? I think so. Actually I think this car made us way beyond the WT status.
- The something something was broken which made it drink a gallon of coolant like every week, so we carried around gallons of spare coolant, which was cool.
- Anytime we drove more than 2 hours we had to charge the battery or it wouldn't start. So we also carried around a super ghetto battery charger in the back.
I know there are at least 20 more things about the jeep that I am forgetting, but I seriously love this car. Now the jeep is dead. I thought it was yet another false alarm, but alas, it signed a DNR. That car was the bomb and served us well.
The good news is another mode of transpo has entered our lives. Welcome welcome...
This car is so easy to love. Plus, everything works, its the weirdest thing!? We can even unlock the door using a beeper- it's straight magic!
