Yesterday I had an interview for grad school. Let me paint an image for you of what happened. I walked into the building to be escorted into the "social room" where we mingled with the current grad students and ate cookies and muffins, and got a special name tag. Then after a few minutes someone came in and took me to the room to get interviewed.
I was interviewed by 9 people at once. So freaky. They sat in a L-shape and directed me to the chair across from them. They had little bowls of candies and waterbottles, plus it was a Friday afternoon so I made a joke and they laughed, it was great. But really with 9 people, who do I look at? Everyone would jot down notes as I talked, like that isnt awkward at all. I was prepared for about 80% of the questions. After the interview the fetcher came and took me away into yet another room to read an article and answer questions on it.
Overall, I feel like it went okay, but of course I only remember the good answers I gave, and not the ones I may have stumbled over. But there was something that really blew my mind- I was the only one who wore something nice/cute. I saw three other girls who were all wearing flat slip on shoes, plain pants (not even dress pants, just like navy blue...), and plain button up shirts (not nice blouses, just plain button shirts with the pockets and what not). put on some heels! Get a colorful blouse!
So, even if I don't get accepted and ended up blowing my interview, at least I looked good.
hahaha
(ps I didn't stand in either of these poses haha).
That outfit is the reason you got accepted! bow chicka wow wow! Oh and I bet your pretty smart too :O)
